 Very nice. I had a Memorial Service with a few other Ladies in our support group. June 5, 1997, I actually said goodbye to my daughter that was taken from me for no good reason. My abortion was in 1978 I was 16, my parents made me. Mostly my mom. My father has met his maker. Back then Post Abortion Syndrome was not started and psychology Doctors would not hear of it or at least some that I ran into. I kept looking for answers until I found them. My first suicide atempt was when I was 17. I really didn't want to go on for what I had done. My anger over lack of understanding of others kept me going.  When I found the group and a very understanding counselor that told me to grieve.  During my studies in the medical field I found answers, one of my favorite is Disenfranchised Grief by Kenneth Doka, a loss that society doesn't recognized. I allowed myself to grieve and I wept. He had wrote it in 1989. With that in mind I started looking for more understanding. I found plenty of other women that hurt as much as I did. I knew then that I was not crazy.

When my first pregnant daughter went into to early labor and they stopped it. The thought of her losing the baby sent me into panic. I found Safe Haven in July of 2002. I have been coming here off and on since, my computer broke  and it was about a year before I got another. I drop in form time to time to give support to the ones that are just starting their journey, and to let them know that they are not alone. I hope you will continue to seek words that help you deal with the traumatic experience.
